The best attorney should get the client.

We help solo and small law firms respond first — and win it.

Founder letter

Solo attorneys handle the legal matters that affect ordinary people most directly — family law, immigration, criminal defense, estate planning. The cases that don’t make headlines but change the direction of someone’s life.

And clients who need them are slipping away. Not to more qualified attorneys. Not to better outcomes. To whoever answered the phone first.

Solo practice is a courageous choice. You walk away from the infrastructure of a large firm to practice law on your own terms. But that choice carries a hidden cost: you’re competing for clients against firms with resources you don’t have. Not because you’re a worse attorney — because you’re a solo one.

That’s the gap we exist to close.

Built lean. On purpose.

We’re a small team at KDV — Kaizen Data Ventures. No investors. No enterprise overhead. No sales team calling you seventeen times.

We chose to stay small for the same reason you chose solo practice: we believe focused work, done well for the right people, beats scale for its own sake. Every person on this team works on one thing — making FirmFirst better for solo and small law firms.

Based in the US

Built and supported by a team that understands your market, your clients, and your professional obligations.

Builders, not salespeople

Our team is engineers, designers, and product thinkers. If you email us, you hear back from someone who built what you're asking about.

One focus

We don't serve every industry. We serve solo and small law firms. That focus is why the product fits so well.

What drives us

Listen first

Built from attorney feedback, not assumptions. Every feature exists because a real attorney told us they needed it.

Prove it with data

Every claim on this site is cited. Every feature is measured. We don't guess — we test. Then we publish what we find.

Remove friction

5-minute setup. Freemium pricing. Mobile-first. We're not building an enterprise system — we're building a tool. If something feels complicated, it's our problem to fix.

Choose the underserved

We build for solo attorneys because we believe the independent practitioner doing excellent work deserves a fair shot at winning every client.

Founder letter

We chose to build for solo attorneys for the same reason you chose to practice law independently: we believe the most meaningful work happens when you’re not optimizing for scale.

We’re a lean team. No investors. No exit plan. We build focused tools for the people big software walks past — because we believe the independent practitioner, doing excellent work without institutional backing, deserves every advantage we can give them.

You chose the harder path. We built for it.

About the company

What is FirmFirst?

FirmFirst is a client intake and response tool built specifically for solo and small law firms. It captures every inbound inquiry — web form, email, phone — notifies you within 30 seconds, and helps you respond before the next attorney does.

Who built FirmFirst?

FirmFirst is built by Ryan, Jake, and Steve at KDV (Kaizen Data Ventures), a small product team focused exclusively on tools for independent professionals. We're not a large enterprise software company — we're a lean team that chose to build for the people big software ignores.

Are you funded by investors?

No. We're bootstrapped. No venture capital, no outside investors, no pressure to grow at any cost. We answer to our users, not a board.

Where are you based?

We're based in the United States. Our team is remote, but all of our support, development, and operations are US-based.

Will FirmFirst still be around in two years?

We're building for the long term. We're not optimizing for a sale or an exit — we're building a product we intend to stand behind indefinitely.

About the product

What channels does FirmFirst capture inquiries from?

FirmFirst captures inquiries from web contact forms, email, and phone calls. All inquiries flow into a single dashboard so nothing is missed.

Does FirmFirst replace my receptionist?

Not exactly — it complements how you work. FirmFirst handles the 24/7 capture and notification layer so that when a potential client reaches out at 10pm on a Thursday, you know about it immediately and can respond when it matters.

How fast is the 30-second notification?

When an inquiry arrives, you receive a push notification on your phone within 30 seconds. The prospect also receives an automatic acknowledgment so they know their message was received.

How long does setup take?

About 5 minutes. There's no code required, no demo call, no onboarding specialist. You connect your channels, set your notification preferences, and you're live.

Pricing & trial

Is the free plan actually free?

Yes. The free plan includes 10 inquiries per month with no credit card required. There's no trial period that expires — it's free indefinitely.

What's included in the free tier?

10 inquiries per month, full notification speed, automatic prospect acknowledgment, and mobile access. Everything you need to see whether FirmFirst works for your firm.

What does it cost after the free plan?

Paid plans are available for firms that exceed the free tier or need additional features. Pricing is published on our pricing page — no sales call required to see it.

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The free plan requires no credit card. You only need a payment method when you choose to upgrade.

Privacy & data

Will you sell or share my client data?

Never. Your inquiry data belongs to you. We do not sell, share, or use client inquiry data for any purpose other than operating the service for your firm.

Is client inquiry data subject to confidentiality?

Yes. We treat all inquiry data with the same confidentiality you're required to maintain. Our data handling practices are designed to align with professional responsibility requirements for attorneys.

Where is data stored?

All data is stored in the United States on encrypted infrastructure.

Are you bar-compliant?

FirmFirst is designed to operate within the ethical obligations attorneys hold. We maintain appropriate data security, do not share client data with third parties, and support your ability to maintain client confidentiality. We recommend reviewing our Trust & Security documentation for specifics.

Try it free. 5 minutes to set up. No credit card.
